Did you install Microsoft Silverlight on your Macintosh, no longer visit websites which need it, and are tired of the pop-ups that ask to update it? Here is how to painlessly remove Microsoft Silverlight from macOS.
Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight from macOS
- Use the Finder to open:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
- Delete
Silverlight.plugin
- Delete
WPFe.plugin
(if it exists).
Notes
- The file(s) to be removed are in the macOS “System Library,” not your “user Library.” Use the exact path above.
- You are prompted to type in your administrative password when you modify library files. In this case, you are deleting files.
